Neighbourhood

Downsview is one of the largest neighbourhoods in Toronto and was originally a farm in the 1870s located near the present-day intersection of Keele Street and Wilson Avenue. The area includes several large post-World War II subdivisions. Within the area is Downsview Airport, the former site of Canadian Forces Base Downsview.  In 2006, work started on a 572-acre urban National Park known as Downsview Park, and this development project will continue after the airport closes in 2023, for the next few decades, aiming to produce five entirely new Toronto neighbourhoods that blend commercial, residential, educational, institutional uses, and parkland, making it one of the most extensive redevelopment projects that the city has ever seen.  The area is home to many schools, parks and green spaces. In addition, the area is known for the Yorkdale Shopping Centre, and great access to highways.

The Ion is a great place to live! The building is clean and fresh, the location is great and still feels like a proper neighbourhood of times past. Just a five-minute walk to supermarkets, many ethnic restaurants, banks, drug store, library, and a hospital. We love coming home to the condo which is so bright and peaceful. We enjoy some spectacular sunrises at all times of the year, and some wonderful moonrises in the evenings. The terrace is huge, and gives a wonderfully spacious but solid feel, much nicer than a balcony. It has been a sanctuary for us and we hope the next owners feel the same way.
